All of the Ball is a personal blog where I share my interests of sport and history.

For years, those close to me were very kind and patient as I shared numerous irrelevant facts and stories. (I think we all know one)

Therefore, to save them from any more agony I have now decided to extend this to the world.

My aim is to take modern sport events, people, teams, rules and institutions and show their places in the history of sport.

History of course does not or should not have any relevance to results in sports but for fans and sport itself it’s important for continuity sake.

As a Corkman and Irishman who is a self-confessed Manchester United and 49ers fan I might occasionally show a little bias in what stories I write about but in general I hope to discover and share so much more about the world of sport.
